Electrician (full time employment or subcontractor basis)
Role Details
We are currently looking for fully time served Electricians to join our team, either on a subcontractor or full time basis. The successful candidates must have good knowledge and experience in all aspects of Electrical installation within the industrial sector and preferably within the Food and beverage industry.
The candidates must be motivated and hardworking and must have the ability to work unsupervised on their own and as part of a team.
Our work can be local to Leicester but from time to time there may be a requirement to work further afield. There are plenty of opportunities for overtime and weekend work may also be required.
As an electrician, you will provide qualified, licenced and certified expertise to assist in the successful completion of electrical and mechanical installations in compliance with current legislation at food & drink manufacturing and recycling and quarry facilities throughout the UK alongside a team of fellow technicians and labourers.
Already an experienced worker, you will demonstrate your capabilities through submission of your technical qualifications and trade licences in addition to a portfolio/CV demonstrating your time working in a similar industrial sector. You will also own and maintain a comprehensive toolkit for completing electrical/mechanical installations.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, modify and repair a variety of electrical or mechanical systems and equipment.
- Communicate and adopt safe systems of work (RAMS).
- Observe the requirements of any Permit to Work issued by site Duty Holders.
- Follow efficient work procedures and techniques.
- Engage in the determination of work rotas and assignment of tasks.
- Assess tasks for completeness and report any issues or variations.
- Complete installation test reports and job documentation.
- Ensure all tools and equipment in use is certified and/or calibrated.
- Maintain positive relationships with client representatives and other third parties.
- Undertake specialist training as required and keep up to date with statutory and legislative requirements.
- Demonstrate and apply the principles of continuous improvement to achieve ‘Best Practice’.
Candidate Details
We are looking for someone with the following experience and qualifications:
- 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrotechnical services or Equivalent
- City & Guilds 2301 Testing & Inspection or Equivalent
- Full UK Driving Licence and right to work in the UK
- CSCS Health & Safety Card
- IPAF 3A, 3B or equivalent (desirable)
- PASMA (desirable)
Working Hours
37.5 hours
Monday – Thursday 08:00-16:30
Friday 08:00-13:30
There are plenty of opportunities for overtime and weekend work may also be required.
