Intelect Apprentices Celebrated in Annual Awards Ceremony

As part of our celebrations for National Apprenticeship Week 2025, we were proud to host our in-house apprenticeship awards ceremony, to celebrate some of the amazing talent that we have here at Intelect!

Intelect’s apprenticeship program has been running for over 26 years, and in that time, the award-winning program has seen over 150 apprentices successfully pass through its doors.

Whilst we traditionally only ever handed out one award each year, due to the significant growth our program has seen in recent years, and the range of talent we have in the business, we felt it was right to further expand the celebrations, in order to acknowledge more of our apprentices.

Our first new category was the “Rising Star Award”, celebrating first and second-year apprentices who have made significant achievements in their learning so far.

Electrical apprentice, Leon Grainger was our winner, with electrical design apprentice, Cory Thorpe receiving the highly commended award.

Next up we had another new award, the “Apprentice of the Year Award”, which celebrates apprentices who have made a significant contribution to the business, or who are exceeding the standards we would expect of an apprentice.

This award was won by health and safety apprentice, Maddie Williams, with the highly-commended award going to accounts apprentice, Taylor Burton.

Our final category of the awards was “The Charlie Baker Electrical Apprentice Award.” Launched back in 2015, this award was created to recognise the achievements of our electrical apprentices, in memory of a much-loved former employee, Charlie Baker, who sadly passed away in 2014.

We were delighted to once again be joined by Charlie’s wife, Janet who was invited to present the award to this year’s winner and highly commended apprentices.

Well done to our Charlie Baker Apprentice of the Year 2024, Joe Lofts, and our highly commended winner, Tommy Birse.

The event was a fantastic celebration, and we would like to say congratulations to all of our winners, as well as all of the apprentices that were nominated!
