Intelect Features In Tees Skills Launch
Intelect were excited to attend the launch of Tees Business’ new magazine, Tees Skills, which took place at Stockton Riverside College. The new publication hopes to inspire readers to strive for exciting future careers, and inform them of the apprenticeship opportunities available on Teesside.
The event was sponsored by apprenticeship end point assessment specialists 1st for EPA. Their mission is to support apprentices to succeed in their apprenticeship by making the end point assessment process easy, providing apprentices with all the support they need.
The magazine has been written and designed for a target audience of young leaners, to educate them on what fantastic careers are out there and the skills they need to access them. Not only is it appealing to the 14-18 age range, it is also beneficial to parents, carers, and teachers to understand and be notified of the opportunities in the Tees region.
Intelect are delighted to feature in this publication, with pages about their Business Operations Manager, Lily Brothwood, and an overview of the company. It includes information about Lily’s educational background and advice she has for young people deciding on a career path. There is also a summary of what the company has to offer career wise, and how an apprenticeship with Intelect can kick-start your journey, as well as the benefits of joining the team.
During this event, guests heard from Ella Snaith, Drew Reader, and Janeen , who all discussed their apprenticeship experience, and describes how it helped to shape their career today. They were followed by four panellists from various Teesside companies, who discussed the skills and career challenges our region faces, and what we should do to tackle this.

Katrina Morley, Grant Glendinning, Gary Riches, and Charlie Nettle delivered some truly powerful messages, calling for action to ‘end the brain drain’ that effects our region.
Katrina stated: “Skills gaps have always been there and will always be there, but we each have a responsibility for all our young people, and it is about making careers accessible for all. We must address the urgent needs and must address the future needs too.”
Overall, this was a successful event with support from many businesses across Teesside. An impressive 10,000 copies of this magazine are currently being distributed into schools, colleges, and universities, hoping to inspire and inform the areas young talent.
