Success for Intelect at The North East Business Awards Grand Final

Celebrations are in order following Intelect’s latest victory at the Grand Final of the North East Business Awards in the Apprenticeships, Training and Skills category.

Up against the likes of Unipres and Newcastle Building Society, Intelect had some tough competition on the night, with both businesses having excellent programmes when it comes to apprenticeships and training.

Judges from the CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personal Development) commended all of the finalists prior to presenting the award, and highlighted just how committed the North East region is when it comes to apprenticeships and training.

Marketing and Communications Manager, Lily Brothwood was there to pick up the award on the evening, she said, “This award is testimony to the years of commitment Intelect has given to its apprenticeships and employees.

“Of the 25 years that the company has been running, 24 of them have been dedicated to growing an apprenticeship programme that provides local people with solid career paths, and we are proud to say that over 50% of the apprentices we have trained are still with the company today.”

“To be up against such tough competition and still come out on top is truly fantastic, and we look forward to continuing to grow our programme and be an advocate for apprenticeships alongside other likeminded businesses in our area.”

The award comes in the same month that Intelect took on a record number of electrical apprentices in their yearly intake, bringing their total number of apprentices up to 28 in Teesside.

They were also recognised in the Apprenticeships Top 50 SMEs earlier in the year, ranking 17th in England for their award-winning programme.

Covering a variety of capabilities and educational levels, there really is something for everybody when it comes to their apprenticeship opportunities.

Other big Teesside winners on the night included Cleveland Containers, who bagged the coveted Company of the Year award, and Great North Air Ambulance for the Services Award.
