Triple Award Success for Intelect as they Celebrate 25th Anniversary
In the same week that engineering company Intelect celebrated its 25th anniversary, the team were also delighted to bag three awards for their commitments to apprenticeships and training.
The first award arrived at the grand final of the North East Business Awards, where Intelect narrowly pipped Unipres and Newcastle Building Society to the Apprenticeships, Training and Skills Award, which was sponsored and judged by the CIPD.
Intelect’s Marketing and Communications Manager, Lily Brothwood was there to accept the award on the evening, and just four days later it was Director, John Thompson’s turn on stage at the North East Region National Apprenticeship Awards, where Intelect received not one, but two awards.
Taking place at the Hilton in Newcastle, Intelect were crowned regional winners in the SME Employer of the Year category, and they also received an unexpected award for Recruitment Excellence of the Year.
Now in their 19th year, the National Apprenticeship Awards are England’s biggest apprenticeship award ceremony, and following their regional victory, Intelect will now go on to represent the North East against nine other regional winners at the grand final in London later this year.
Established in 1997, Intelect launched their apprenticeship programme just one year after opening their doors, and have continued to remain committed to supporting apprentices and their employees ever since.
Intelect’s Managing Director, Fran Cormican was thrilled to hear about the latest flurry of awards, saying, “It’s been a monumental week for us as a company, and it’s been great to look back and reflect on the last 25 years and see just how far we have come.
“Having grown the company from a small team of six, to now having over 120 employees is enough of an achievement for us, but to also receive both regional and national recognition for our commitment to our employees is fantastic.
He continued, “We wouldn’t be where we are today without our team, and we are looking forward to celebrating our victories and our 25th anniversary together with them this month.”
Earlier this year, Intelect were ranked 17th in the Apprenticeships Top 50 SMEs in England, and this year took on a record number of electrical apprentices.
